This past weekend, my family went on a little trip over east to St. Augustine to see my loverly Uncle Roger and Aunt Carla. It has actually been awhile since we went on a trip just because. It is always very laid back when we are at St. Augustine and we don't have much sense of time. We always very much enjoy going to see my nut of an uncle and my aunt, especially since we don't see them as much as we would like. :)
Okay, so maybe I got a bunch of pictures...oh well!

Our walk downtown on Saturday:
Saturday night:
What really is the center of our visits are our nights on the deck with a pot fire going while listening to music and the adults enjoy some wine. On that deck is where the memories are. On the deck, the world's problems are solved, laughter wakes people who are actually asleep inside at two-thirty in the morning, and family comes together just to be. I love our time on the deck!

Sunday:
I really don't mind being the tourist when I visit other places too much, but when it comes to the beach, I HATE being the tourist. I know, it sounds silly, but if there was something that I didn't want to be, a tourist on the beach would be one of the top of my list. The beach just feels like my home, so feeling like a 'guest' at my home is just a little weird.
On the way home:
Since being in St. Augustine:
Anytime anyone starts whining, there is a chorus of, "Wanka! Wanka! Wanka! Whine! Whine! Whine! You want some cheese with that whine?!"
Occasionally during the day there are sudden bursts around the house of "Cluuuuuub Craniuuuum!!"
What I have learned from being in St. Augustine:
Never let Uncle Roger go to Wal-Mart. Period.
When taking guests to Uncle Roger's, (especially if they are male) never encourage them to praise the Lord and put their arms in the air, even if it is a tradition before meals.
Laughing...laughing...
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love the pictures. It's so nice to feel like I can "get in" on trips that I can't go on myself. :) And so nice to finally see this long-awaited post!
Isn't it great? It's like you are going with us. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, sorry about getting it on late!
Boy, it looks like y'all really got out in the town! I don't know that I've ever seen that much of St. Augustine.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fun,I wish we could go on vacation.
ReplyDeleteI loved all the pictures, and so did my mom.
Let me know when you figure out who I am. =)
