Hello, Moon!

Have you ever looked at the stars in the sky? I know we see them, but have you ever really looked at them and thought about what they are, where they are, etc.? Not until I have gotten a little older have I really thought about the stars. They are really quite beautiful, and I enjoy seeing what I can even though I live in the city. They get taken for granted it seems. People used to be so knowledgeable in astronomy, and sailors would use the stars for navigation. I don't think I would try to do all of that, but to just even know some of the constellations would be nice. But then again, I would probably be fine even if I didn't know, just as long as I could see them and admire them.

This is a picture that I managed to catch on the way home from Mobile. It was difficult getting it while driving through the city with Friday night traffic, but it is possible! Watching it come up made me think about the moon too. It is almost odd thinking about a big ball of light in the sky coming up. It was beautiful!

When I got home tonight, I did end up looking up at the stars for a bit in Milton. Not so many city lights out here with all the country folk. I tried naming all the constellations I could. Hehe.

    Luna. ;D

  4. Love the picture! How cool that you got that on the fly while in traffic. The traffic and lights actually give the picture character, I think. You PLANNED it. Right right. Good job!

"Oh look! The star is out tonight."

"Hey Ruth, look at that awesome star!"
    "Is it moving?"
    "Oh, it's just another airplane."
