A very unassuming post is someone cleaning the kitchen. A somewhat dreaded job to some, washing dishes, that ends up being not so bad in the end. But when everyone is getting ready for bed, and the little home is settling down, the suds and water with the dishes bring out therapeutic waves if they wish. Also seeing that the night brings on more thoughts to myself at some times, it is an interesting combination. One may not realize what is going on in the head of that person; I hardly do myself until later. So many thoughts can go through the head and heart: What happened during the day, something someone said (or even that I said!) whether good or bad, my brother far away from home, the paths taken by others, bike rides in the future, what I want to do with myself, what I have done, the beautiful present, when to put Bactine on Dakota's feet, etc. Yes, many thoughts can go through the kitchen person! But not all nights are the same. There are some where I haven't really thought of anything, or when life is so content that there is nothing to think of at the moment. Even a task so simple cannot always be taken for granted.
:)
Or some nights turn into a...karaoke night!
ReplyDeleteI like seeing your thoughts. I can relate to this. I also marvel at the realization that our brains can compute much more quickly than our outlets for communication, it seems. Like in five minutes your mind can think, or more feel, a journey of thoughts and emotions that may take days and days of writing or talking to relay to someone else. Or perhaps to figure out for yourself. Silent ponderings can be very good for us, I think.
Yeah, I actually almost put that little bit in there: singing all of your favorite songs while everyone else is going "Shut up, Sarah!"
ReplyDeleteOh whatever, they sing too! A choir of sillies.
