Bear Lake

What we thought began as a 4.8 mile hike delightfully (for me that is) ended as a 6.1 mile hike beginning at Krul Lake and around Bear Lake. Perhaps we weren't in the mountains or something of that sort, and maybe the scenery did not change considerably, but when you are someone like me that takes delight in all of the little things, a little hike like this is wonderfully delightful and does not usually lack in something of interest.
This itsy bitsy spider was probably the most interesting of the wildlife we spotted, but he wasn't so cute as he sounded in the song.
This shot was taken right before *somebody* came and spitefully stepped on the plant before I could snap a better shot. I know who you are thinking this someone is, but believe me...it was someone else.
Leetle treasures.

               Aww...

The lovely waxing moon coming out before the sun had fully set.

 A successful little hike.

  1. Agh! I love it! I love it all!

I recognize all the little places that are so enjoyable to hike. It is hard to pick a favorite picture because so many are good, but I really like the one by the creek. I had wanted to use those little plants in a terrarium. The photo looks like a Lewis scene - something life-size in actuality, like all those plants are really tall trees.

The writing is also fun, as usual.

I was so hoping to see this little update! Thanksh for posting!

  2. Hey, my biggesht fan! Thanksh for the compliments. :) I thought that the close-up of the scene would give it an almost life like appearance, and I'm glad you like it!

    Ruth? Why....thanksh! :D

  3. Lovely post! :) And I am pretty sure that the plant that "someone" squashed was a blueberry bush......I think.....I know that down here it is fairly common to find them growing wild. :) Although I could be wrong and it might just have been a poisonous plant that could have killed you....... ;)

    1. Why thank you! :) I don't think I actually thought about what sort of plant it was, but that would make sense! I just thought, "Well, the lighting is about right to compliment these pretty little guys...whoops, let me try taking that agai-" SMASH. "Ehehe..."

  4. Ugh...I don't have a good memory of the last time we hiked at Bear Lake...we thought it was only going to take like thirty minutes so we got there only about an hour before the park closed...and then it started raining...and then we didn't have any water...we barely made it out of there. But I'd like to do it again sometime now that we know what to expect! Your pictures are beautiful! :)

    1. Oh dear, that does sound like a nearly horrific experience! But I would recommend going, especially at this time of year where it is nearly impossible NOT to be outside. Thanks much for the compliment! :)
