Crowds Through the Steep Hills

This village took walking through very difficult hills that the locals walked every single day while carry packs and supplies. It was difficult to get there, but such beautiful people and country ready to hear whatever we had to say and be seen by a "real doctor."

The company had made trips before to this village, and left behind things that would help be sustainable for the next generations - the greenhouse, which would provide nourishing food as well as revenue to buy other necessary items, and crafts the other team had done with the children to connect with and teach so they could remember the stories and kindness to pass on to others.

Jorge - Never got a degree in college, yet learns very quickly and always has a solution for every problem. He also spends his days traveling through Central America to help the people of his country. A man of many talents, and a heart of gold.

Julie - when she and her husband were young adults getting married, they said they would never have kids. She has since given birth to a daughter, has fostered many children, and became the friend to a large chunk of the child population in Guatemala.

Santos (on left) - Driver for the local government, and finds and visits many local villages that we visited. He tries to help and provide for these villages, but minimal resources only allows him so much. He was our favorite driver in the hills, and served as a translator for the different dialects.

Due to a fail in communication with the village, there was a mix of time, making it so that not all of the villagers could make it. But incredibly enough, that didn't stop women to run up one of the steepest village hills I had seen in order to talk to the "doctor." We stopped traffic in the road and provided roadside service to many more.
