Happy Fall!

"Fall is here, hear the yell,
Back to school, ring the bell,
Brand new shoes, walking blues,
Climb the fence, books and pens,
I can tell that we are going to be friends,
Yes I can tell that we are going to be friends!"
-I Can Tell That We Are Going To Be Friends

We have said good-bye to summer (even though it doesn't really feel like it) and have started school. It seems as though the months are ticking away, yet they are going slow. When I look out the window, it looks like I should be wearing my flannel shirt, but as soon as I step out the door, hair frizzes, and I have to pull out my gills to breath with all the humidity. But I don't mind, I like the warm weather. I know I will be griping about the cold soon enough!

I have not mentioned yet on my blog that my parents have been educating us at home for twenty or more years. The most they had doing school in one year was seven or eight students at once. We have also had other friends that have done the same thing come over and study with us, as well as had miscellaneous classes, such as Logic, Literature, and Science. As I have gotten older, I have a real appreciation for learning. It even gets to the point where I don't feel like I have enough time to learn everything.

I kept a list of books that I read over summer break. I didn't read as much as I wish I could have, but it is still a list.

Jo's Boys -Louisa May Alcott
A Grief Observed -C.S.Lewis
Great Expectations -Charles Dickens
Eight Cousins -Louisa May Alcott
Rose in Bloom -Louisa May Alcott

Right now, I am in a really cool book (that I would recommend to others)called "Dumbing us Down" by John Taylor Gatto that talks about the public school system. It is very interesting.

Well, enough of my ramblings! What I would recommend to you, reader, is to enjoy this sunny fall day, and go play!

Happy Fall!

  1. "Happy winds-day, Rabbit!"

Ahh yes, back to school it is. Not for me! ("ha haa") Lucky me! I tease. I enjoyed school and even though I'm out of school now I never feel like I'm not learning something or studying something.

    Nice ramblings.
