It has been very weird lately when I see my friends. All of those crazy, high-pitched, little boys are now taller than me and have voices that are trying to go even lower than they have already gotten. The girls are getting more mature, and some are even forming figures. When we all see each other, we don't seem to mind sitting around talking and visiting rather than having a game of Cowboys and Indians. Kids are getting permits, and we are turning into the "older kid" group. The great thing is, is that even while we are all getting older, we still love just being silly and playing a big game of football or man hunt at night. I don't think we will ever grow out of that! We will still run races, and climb trees, and we still sing musicals as loud as the parents will let us. We are still young, and like to take advantage of it!
I don't know if I have any conclusion to this post, except that we are all watching our futures unfold; we are watching each other turn into the person they are to be in life. But until then...
"Mr. George! I'm open! I'm open!"
This is only the beginning for you, I believe. :) I try to look at it as a neat thing to observe rather than getting depressed by it, which I could. I like your depiction of the process.
ReplyDeleteThere shouldn't be any reason to look on it deppresed if you can. Think of it as looking at the future unfolding one corner at a time.

ReplyDeleteI guess I shouldn't use the word "depressed," but watching change and time passing can sometimes be bittersweet. That's it! Bittersweet. Like chocolate chips.
