My Weekend...

This past weekend, Katherine, Joanna, Diana, and I volunteered for the Santa Rosa Island triathlon. This is Pensacola's big-deal triathlon that many people participate in. I'm sorry to say that I was unable to get pictures, but I snagged some from the Pensacola News Journal. This picture I took on the left shows the shirts we volunteers got. Pretty sweet.

I got to hold the banner for the winner!

The sunrises were just beautiful! I'm glad that I got to see them at my lovely beach! Speaking of the beach, the water was so beautiful Saturday! It was very salty, but very flat and clear. The sky was clear and the sun shone brightly, and we had some fall-ish weather that kept us from sweating.

On Sunday, there was yet another triathlon that we volunteered for, only this one was for kids seven to fifteen. They were so cute, and very athletic!

If you see in this picture, Katherine was life guarding for them.

The beach was quite different from the day before. It was very windy, and after the beautiful sunrise, there were just a few clouds that kept us from getting warm. I felt bad for the (very brave) kids because the sound side was very choppy with white caps and a current. But, they all made it through!

I love the athletic vibes. Everyone is just so happy and cheer each other on even if they don't know each other, and everyone is active. It is lots of fun to help and very inspiring. I hope that I can actually do one myself one day. Until then, I am going running at McGuire's. Say, it's Tuesday...

  1. Sporting events ARE fun. I enjoy going to them and when I've been in a couple they really make you feel excited and upbeat. I enjoy even just going to triathlons. Volunteering would probably be fun. This year, however, I slept in a little!

I do love to go to the beach and watch the sunrise. There's a feeling about it that's hard to describe.

    I love the t-shirts.
